[Beginner Illustrator] I'm an Illustrator Starting Today! The Courage to Call Myself an Illustrator and Why I Started
Good morning! Today, I'm finally going to put into words the feelings I've had inside for so long.

I,I'm going to become an illustrator!!
"What?! Didn't you just start a YouTube channel recently?" "You said you were going to be reviewing books, right?"
Some of you may have thought that. In fact, I myself was undecided for a long time.
But something happened that made me decide.
Why did you decide to change direction? Why are you an illustrator now?
In this blog, I will honestly write about the reasons behind my choices and the challenges I will face in the future.
Please bear with me for just a moment.
We are changing the direction of YouTube.
I'm not quitting YouTube! But I'm going to change direction a bit.
Up until now, I've mainly focused on introducing planners, notebooks, and books, but I've decided to step away from this genre for the time being.
Actually, I'm not very good at explaining things... I tried hard to overcome it, but I realized that it's just not for me.
I will leave the videos I have posted so far as they are,From now on, I'll be shifting towards drawing-related content!
I plan to upload more short videos in particular.
I'm having so much fun drawing right now, and I want to capture that excitement in my videos!
My illustration skills are still lacking...but I'll give it a try!
To be honest, I don't draw illustrations very often right now, so I can't say I'm very good at it.
But even so, I still want to try! That's what I thought.I've decided to use this blog to document "what I'm doing to become an illustrator."
It truly was a "start from a point where I wasn't good at drawing"! That's why I'd be happy if I could encourage others who are going through similar struggles.
By the way, I asked the AI "Copilot" the following question.
"Is it true that you can become an illustrator the day you declare yourself one?"
Then I got this answer:
There are no qualifications or licenses required to call yourself an "illustrator." So, to put it extremely,The moment you declare yourself an illustrator, you become an illustrator. That's it.
Furthermore, he also taught me about the meaning of introducing oneself.
- A declaration of one's identity and determination
The courage to tell those around you, "This is what I'm doing."
Simply including that title on social media or your portfolio can significantly change your ability to communicate.
They also gave me advice on what actions I needed to take to continue using that name.
- Regularly share your work and establish your own style.
- Build up your "track record" by taking on jobs and requests.
- To become a "reliable illustrator" for others.
To be honest, I'm not very good at taking action.
But that's precisely why I want to declare it here and motivate myself!
I'll grow step by step by drawing, sharing, and taking action!
What's your current level?
My current illustration level is...We're still in the development stage!
Up until now, I've mostly drawn using traditional methods. I've actually only drawn a few digital illustrations on my iPad.
This year on Valentine's Day,My first properly drawn digital illustrationHere it is ↓

I tried using a symmetry ruler and it was incredibly fun and amazing! ✨
after that,Shigure Ui SenseiI also tried my hand at drawing illustrations. It's still difficult to make them look exactly like the originals, but I feel like I'm gradually getting used to digital art.

I also draw chibi characters for YouTube, and I've been working digitally for about six months.
I'll keep drawing more and more and improve my skills!
"I want to keep going, enjoying the process, with the feeling that I'll get a little better today than yesterday, and a little better tomorrow than today."
I will take one step at a time towards my dream.
This time,Thank you for listening to my "declaration."
Starting today, this blog will beA place to document my journey as an illustrator. This is what it will be.
Why do you want to become an illustrator?
Lately, I've been learning about a lot of things, including money, stocks, side hustles, and how to draw.
I'm not in immediate trouble, butYou never know what's going to happen in this world. In that context, I started to think, "What is my way of life?"
Having worked as a professional for a long time, "To live my life drawing the pictures I love, without anyone interfering." I've come to think that it's okay to choose that kind of lifestyle.
Some might say, "Now that AI is around, illustrations are no longer necessary..."
But even so, I"I want to become an artist," was my dream since I was little.I want to make that happen.
So, from now on, I'll be sharing my challenges as an illustrator through my blog and YouTube channel!
Thank you for reading to the end.
Okay then!
